Angkor Dynasty Grand Theater
Located in the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia, the Angkor Dynasty Grand Theater is only 5 kilometers from the 8 Wonder of the World – Angkor Wat. The theater is the most advanced theater in Cambodia and one of the most advanced performing theaters in Southeast Asia. Over 1,200 spectators can enjoy the exciting and thrill seeking performance at one time!
Chinese designer Zhang Yimou and the performance artist Yang Liping’s royal design team with the help of a former Cirque du Soleil choreographer and stage manager, brought together the best of the best from Cambodia in order to retell the fascinating history of Angkor Dynasty. Spectators can watch the mysterious history unfold through strange and creative expressions. The story is broken down into 4 parts.
- Tropical Rain Forest – man and nature working and living together to create a truly harmonious life.
- Tonle Sap – the nourishing lake Tonle Sap was the source of life as it irrigated the farm land and provided a water supply.
- Defending Against Foreign Enemies – with the invasion of foreigners the king led the generals to fight back.
- Building of Angkor Wat – after defending the city from foerigners the king was inspired by Buddha to build one of the greatest Buddhist Cities to keep Cambodia safe.
